II. STACIONARY-hospital The Clinic for Infectious Diseases has 65 hospital rooms, with 129 beds.All rooms have natural day light and
separate sanitary facilities. Completely new ward for patients
with imune deficiencies and infections is in its final stage of buliding. The stacionary part of the Clinc
is situated on four stores, devided acording to patology to different
wards. Each ward is subdevided into tvo units. One ward has one resident
doctor, and two doctors specialsits.
Laboratory unit includes: 1.

diagnostic and 4.
laboratory
for molecular diagnostic. Laboratory for immunology has some of
the most sophisticated devices: - Abbott AxSym - completely automated immunology
analyzer, which uses specific MEIA technique (microparticular enzyme immune
essay), specially designed two step technique to avoid possible interaction
and interferention. This system
enables broad quantitative and qualitative detection of a large number
of infectious agents for short period of time. With the STAT option (urgent)
analyzes, a quick diagnosis can be made (15 to 20 minutes) regardless
of the process phase in which the system is. - DADE Behring BEP 2000- open immune analyzer
which employs ELISA technique. The whole process of dilution, incubation
of the specimen and reagents is completely automated as well as the process
of reading and calculation. The Behring
tests are with proven quality and are recommended by WHO for detection
of HIV, HBV, HAV, EBV, CMV and other viruses as well. We are also
able to use the ELFIA technique for serological diagnostic used by BioMerieux-mini Vidas analyzer. One of the particularities of the system
are the latest generation oh HIV1/2 test and P24 confirmatory test. We also use
confirmatory test in immunology-immune blot test. - Western Blot HIV1/2 for detection of
HIV1/2 antibodies. The Clinic for Infectious Diseases is the only referent
institution in R. Macedonia for Western blot and ELISA antigen/antibody
detection methods for HIV. Biochemical laboratory at the Clinic
uses two contemporary biochemical analyzers, which utilize standard kinetic
methods according to IFCC like: - VITROS EKTACHEM 250- modern biochemical
analyzer, which uses the method of dry chemistry, useful for routine and
immediate analyzes, suitable for individual patient needs. The performances
of the apparatus enable high level of promptness, swiftness and precise
detection. This apparatus uses the minimum necessary quantity of material
for analyzes (serum, plasma, urine and CSF). A series of analyzes can
be made with the use of calorimetric, potencio-metric and immune-chemistry
analyzes. - COBAS EMIRA- is completely selective multi
channel biochemical analyzer, which utilizes the photometry technique
of liquid solutions and turbidimetric analyzes. This is useful for analyzing
multiple biochemical and immunology parameters in minimal specimen. The whole
apparatuses in biochemical laboratory enable us to form date base for
a longer period of time (one year). Having in
mind the need for maintaining the high quality of services and exact an
swift diagnosis, the Clinic tries to keep the pace with the latest achievements
in the field of medical apparatuses and technique. The Clinic
has acquired the: - COBAS AmpliPrep/COBAS TaqMan 48 System Rosche-
completely automated system for extraction, isolation and purification
of genetic material from different pathogens from blood, serum, plasma,
urine, CSF, feces. The apparatus for automatic amplification and detection
of DNA and RNA- Real time PCR TaqMAn 48 is unique apparatus, which enables
conducting two different test at the same time with sensitivity of 40
copies/ ml and 100% specificity. - CD4 cell count- BD FACSCount- complete system
for automatic counting for CD4+, CD8+, CD3+ T lymphocytes by the principle
of Flow cytometry. The range of examination is: for CD4+: 50-2000 cell/µl;
CD8+: 100-2000 cell/µl, CD3+: 100-3500 cell/µl; |
